Watson makes his way to Boston A symposium on October 31 hosted by IBM at the Harvard Business School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology invited students, professors and researchers to discuss the role of advanced analytics in business, according to a release. IBM will bring its Watson supercomputer to the conference, engaging students with the technology to discuss the theoretical business ramifications of such advanced artificial intelligence.

A supercomputer capable of analyzing the advanced linguistic nuance necessary to answer a difficult question correctly, Watson made a name for itself by appearing on Jeopardy.

A number of technological devices have made significant contributions to the business world. An interactive whiteboard, smartphone or HDMI projector all offer opportunities that improve communication, save energy and expand the marketplace. Just as these communicative devices revolutionized the way business is done, speakers at the symposium said the technology in Watson could change the landscape of the business world.

"The symposium and demonstration match will expose our students to cutting-edge technology in deep analytics, an area of increasing importance in business applications, healthcare and the life sciences, enterprise knowledge management, finance and anywhere there are vast amounts of unstructured data," said Willy Sinh, a professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School.
